Fair Earth Bazaar 2009
The 2009 Fair Earth Bazaar was a huge success!
Over 2,000 people enjoyed shopping at this year's Fair Earth Bazaar. The merchandise was amazing and plentiful when we opened our doors Friday November 6. Attendance for the Preview night doubled this year with more guests than ever shopping while the inventory was at it's peak. The goal of the event - to help alleviate poverty in developing nations - fits perfectly within the mission of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Center is proud to announce that another $47,000 has been provided for artisans, collectives and communities around the world as a result of the 2009 Fair Earth Bazaar. Highlights of the event included a Harvest Cafe and Market featuring homemade soups created by our new Head Chef Andrea Dante. The Cafe was a huge success and everyone left full and happy! The baked goods, supplied by Hometown Bakery, Madison, were delicious and we sincerely thank them for donating their talents for the Bazaar. Heartfelt thanks to our army of volunteers (and hardy car parkers!) who helped the event run smoothly including our fabulous "category captains" who worked so hard researching, purchasing and tagging the merchandise: Sandra D'Auria, Linda Durie, Sharon Hart, Sarah Noyes, Sandy Peffer, April Shuman and Janice Thaxter. Thank you, friends!
Thank you to all who came to shop and support Fair Trade. Thank you also for supporting Mercy Center in the process.
